One of the least stressful, and most FUN,  parts of planning your wedding is choosing the dessert!  At Sweet Honeybee's, we do wedding cake tastings to help you decide what flavor you'd like for your cake (or cupcakes!).  We can also help you plan a dessert bar if you want to go beyond the standard wedding cake for your big day.

Q:  How do tastings work?

A:  We ask couples to choose the flavors they'd like to try and then order them as cupcakes.  When you have chosen your flavors, please contact Chef Missy through Facebook or text 352-478-5414 to schedule your pick up. We ask for a minimum of one week's advance notice on orders, however we are sometimes booked out much farther.  Once your tasting is scheduled, you will pick up your cupcakes at the agreed appointment time and take them home to enjoy.

Q: How much do tastings cost?

A: Our three base flavors, Chocolate, Vanilla, and Marble, are the standard price of $1.25 each.  All other flavors are $3 each. (This higher price is to cover the cost of buying ingredients to make just one or two cupcakes of any given flavor.  Our standard minimum is twelve of any flavor, but this does not apply to tastings).

Q: How many flavors can we try?

A: We are so happy that you love our flavor choices, and we know it can be hard to narrow down the ones you'd like to try!  At this time there isn't a limit on how many cupcakes you can order for a wedding tasting, however, we do ask that you please only choose flavors that you are actually considering for your wedding.  Please know that we honored that you are interested in choosing Sweet Honeybee's for your special day, but baking just one of twenty different cupcake flavors is quiet a task!

Q: Do you deliver wedding cakes and desserts?

A:  Yes!  We deliver (weddings ONLY) for a fee based on distance.  Our current rate is 75 cents per mile, round trip.  If you are in the Starke City limits, delivery is free.  We also deliver free to our preferred venues: Belle Oaks Barn & The Barn at Double Run

Q: What time will you deliver?

A:  Normally we like to arrive about an hour before your wedding ceremony.  Chef Missy will assemble your cake and add florals on site. Sometimes we have more than one wedding on a given day.  We will coordinate with all parties and work out delivery times in the best way possible.

Q: Do you provide cake stands?

A:  We will be renting cake stands very soon through our sister business, Blue Collar Event Rentals.

Q: Are fresh flowers included in the price of my cake?

A:  Unfortunately they are not.  We have found that the best way to match the florals to your wedding décor is for you to ask your florist, or whoever is providing the flowers, to please leave some on the cake table for Chef Missy to place on the cake at delivery.  Alternatively, your florist can provide flowers already bundled and ready to place on the cake, or he/she, or another designated person can place them on the cake after it's assembled on site.

Q: Are artificial flowers included in the price of my cake?

A:If you are using a small number of very basic artificial flowers (common colored roses, sunflowers, baby's breath, assorted greenery) then we are happy to provide those as long as they are available locally.  If you are using very specific colors or types of flowers, or if there are a large amount of flowers required to create your design, please leave them on the cake table at your venue so they can be placed on your cake at delivery.

Q: Do I need to pay a deposit to hold my date?

A:  At this time we do not require a deposit just to hold your date.  Please inform Chef Missy Immediately if you need to cancel or reschedule.   We require all details to be completely finalized two weeks prior to your wedding.

Q: When and how do I pay?

A:  Payment can be made in full, or in part, at any time up to the day before your wedding. If you'd like to make several payments to fulfill your balance, that is also an option.  We accept PayPal (keystonecupcakery@yahoo.com), cashapp ($chefmissydavis), Venmo (@chefmissydavis) and cash.  We do not accept checks.

Q: What information do I need to provide to place an order?

A:  We will need the following:

1.  Your name and contact phone number.

2. The name of a designated person who we can contact the day of your wedding (because you will be busy preparing for your day and we do not want to disturb you).

3. The address of your venue (and name, if applicable).

4. Any special instructions regarding your venue … Is it a back yard wedding?  Do we need a gate code? Where do we park when we arrive? Are there stairs? Is there a refrigerator on site if needed? Where is your cake table?

5. Ceremony time.

6. Cake design, flavor, and size finalized no more than two weeks before your wedding date.

Q: Does my cake need refrigerated?

A:  Short answer … YES!  It does.  However, we know that you will want your cake to be on display for you and your guests to enjoy before cutting.  Normally there are no problems … BUT … Our best advice is to keep cakes refrigerated as long as possible. Once your cake is placed on display, please have a designated person(s) ready to move your cake to the refrigerator to chill it if (s)he notices any changes in the appearance of the cake such as glossiness, sweating, bulges or bubbles forming, or anything else that causes concern.  We use real butter in our cakes.  Butter softens at room temperature and begins to melt at approximately 84 degrees Fahrenheit.  Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to change that.   Icing can melt, slide, bubble, bulge, or crack due to changes in humidity and temperature.  Cakes can soften and lean for the same reasons, even though we dowel cakes and place each tier on it's own board.

Q: Do you have liability  insurance and a business license?

A:  We operate under Florida's Cottage Food Law and are not required to have a license.  We do, however, have liability insurance and we are happy to provide a certificate of coverage to your venue with them added as an additionally covered party, if required.  Please request proof of insurance at least two weeks prior to your wedding, and provide an email address where we can send the documentation.

Q:  What if Sweet Honeybee's has to cancel or if there is an accident/emergency?

A:  If we have to cancel due to accident, injury, illness, acts of nature, or any other emergency or situation outside of Sweet Honeybee's control, this order may be canceled. Likewise, if any event occurs that causes a delay in delivery such as traffic accidents, vehicle malfunction, road closures, construction, etc., we will not be held financially responsible for such a delay.  We will attempt to inform you, or a contact you have designated,  as soon as possible via the communication method we have on file for you. Sweet Honeybee's makes every effort to provide exactly the flavor, filling, decoration, size, color, shape, and design discussed, however, creating cake is an art form and may be subject to variations. No two cakes will be exactly alike.

If the customer supplies an image or likeness to be created, Sweet Honeybee's will make every attempt to make the item as close to the likeness as possible. In the event that the product requires equipment or ingredients that cannot be obtained within the time allotted (exotic flavors, molds, shapes, stamps, texture, additional novelty such as glitter), the closest resemblance available will be used to complete the product.

Color matching is not a precise science and different sugar substrates take color differently. Sweet Honeybee's will do everything possible to make substrates match to each other and to match provided color swatches, but sometimes it is not possible to make a 100% perfect color match and some colors are just not achievable using food grade dyes.  Sweet Honeybee's cannot match a “verbal” color.  Also, please be advised that colors sent via electronic device can display differently across monitors and screens.

Serving sizes are estimated based on years of experience as well as conventional cake serving size charts.  They are only estimates.  We cannot be held responsible for the cutting of cakes and the servings provided based on how cakes are cut.

Flavor and satisfactory texture is subject to opinion. We will not refund based on whether or not you like a flavor or texture.
